CrCl Formula

CrCl 80-50: 200 - 400 mg po q 12 h.

CrCl 50-10: 100 - 200 mg po q 12 h.

CrCl < 10: 100 - 200 mg po q 24 h.

Important side effects

Like all quinolones, can affect the QT interval. All variety of neuropsychiatric side effects; not recommended for children, adolescents, and pregnant or lactating women due to arthropathy; perhaps achillies tendon rupture.

Important drug interactions

Aluminum carbonate, basic, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate, antidiabetic agents, calcium, corticosteroids, didanosine, dihydroxyaluminum aminoacetate, dihydroxyaluminum sodium carbonate, duloxetine, iron, magaldrate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium trisilicate, ranitidine, sucralfate, theophylline, warfarin, zinc.
