Use for

Approved for cellulitis (Canada and Europe, not US) and works for hospital acquired penumonia (PubMed).

Staphylococcus aureus esp MRSA It has a high affinity for penicillin-binding protein PBP2a, the major determinant of methicillin resistance in staphylococcal species. Ceftobiprole has an MIC90 of 0.5 mg/mL for methicillin-susceptible S. aureus and an MIC90 of 2 mg/mL for MRSA.
