Ochroconis gallopava


Mold. Ochroconis gallopava is a well recognised species and has been reported as an turkey pathogen, especially in poultry.  Occasional human infections have been reported with a prediliction for the brain and lung.

Epidemiologic Risks

Environmental, it lives in decaying vegetable matter and soon to be decaying matter.


Pulmonary and CNS infections in mostly transplant pateints. Almetuzumab is a risk (PubMed).


Debride if at all possible. Amphotericin B or voriconazole
