Cokeromyces

Microbiology

Mould, a zygomyces. Cokeromyces recurvatus. Unrelated to soft drinks or illegal nasal decongestants. Evidently first isolated in Illinois from a "collection" of rabbit poo (PubMed). Who collects rabbit poo?

Epidemiologic Risks

An environmental fungus. Found in dirt, rabbit and lizard poo.

Syndromes

A rare hodgepodge of invasive diseases in the immunoincompetent cancer and diabetes.

Treatment

Cases are so few I have no idea.

Notes

It can be misidentified as coccidiomycosis (PubMed).
